So this started from a genuinely annoying moment. I was going through a bunch of receipts trying to figure out what I actually paid before tax and realized there was no clean tool for it. Every calculator out there adds tax. Nobody built one that goes backwards.
Turns out this is something a lot of people deal with. Freelancers trying to separate tax from an invoice total. Small business owners reconciling their daily sales. Accountants pulling pre-tax amounts from client receipts. Even just regular shoppers who want to verify what they were charged.
