Hi there Product Hunt, we (Rowan and Joerie) created Resize control! A bit of an explanation of why we made it and how it could help you: 🤔 The issue After working at webdesign agencies, we came across the same issue everytime. Clients who upload huge images, images with the wrong resolution, or images with the wrong aspect ratio. Especially for webshops, the site we built was amazing, the images were horrible. We did found some other plugins that helped us with this problem, but we could not specify any variable settings based on post-type, user role etc. ✅ How we fixed it Inspired by other "before upload" plugins, we wanted to create a plugin, but add more functionality so webbuilders could set this up for their clients. We discovered all the other "before upload" plugins, weren't even really doing the image processing before upload! So we came up with a cool technique that allowed us to do the image processing on before actually touching the server. We also included some features we really missed with other plugins: - Role based settings - Posttype based settings - More control over size, scaling method - Allowing custom backgrounds when scaling to a contained format (handy for webshops!)
