Hey Product Hunt 👋 I built RemoveVideoBG because every time I needed one clean cutout of a person on a transparent background, I had three bad options: set up a green screen, roto the thing frame by frame, or upload to a tool that hands the result back with a watermark burned across my subject's face. So this is the version I wanted: you drop in a clip, an AI matting model isolates the subject — hair, motion blur, fast movement included — and you get a real alpha channel back. Not a "transparent" MP4 that quietly flattens to black. An actual transparent WebM, MOV, or PNG sequence you can drop straight into After Effects, a web page, or your editor. What it does today: - Remove the background from any video — no green screen, no manual masking - Export true alpha: transparent WebM (VP9), MOV, or PNG sequence - Replace the background with a new scene, or blur it for a depth-of-field look - Key out an existing green screen — or add one back in for a chroma-key workflow - Batch a whole queue of clips, and handle long recordings (courses, interviews, webinars) up to 30 minutes without chunking them yourself - GIFs too — transparent looping output No watermark. Ever. Not on the free tier, not on paid. There's a free tier so you can throw real footage at it before deciding anything, and paid usage is plain credits — packs from $30, or a subscription if you run volume. It's in the browser, so there's nothing to install, and the UI is in 9 languages. I'd genuinely love for you to try to break it — throw your worst footage at it. Fine hair, fast motion, low contrast between subject and background, a busy street. That's where matting models fall apart, and that's the feedback I actually need. Would love to see an option to export as ProRes or PNG sequence for editors who need higher quality in their NLE. WebM with alpha is great but not every timeline plays nicely with it.

Just to clarify: we actually do support what you’re asking for — you can export both ProRes (with alpha) and PNG image sequences for higher-quality workflows in your NLE.

Tried it on a short clip of my dog and the edges held up surprisingly well around his fluffy fur, no watermark is a nice touch. WebM with alpha just worked straight in my editor too.

@enolo8jf Thank you for trying it on your dog’s clip — fluffy fur is exactly the kind of “hard mode” footage I was hoping people would test it on, so your comment made my day.

I’m really glad to hear the edges held up well and that WebM with alpha dropped straight into your editor without issues. There’s no watermark by design — I want people to be able to use the output in real projects, not just as a demo.

If you ever have a clip where the edges don’t look right (motion blur, low contrast, busy background, etc.), I’d love for you to throw it at RemoveVideoBG and tell me where it breaks. That kind of feedback is super valuable for improving the model.

Would be awesome if you could add batch processing for multiple videos at once, since uploading one by one gets kind of tedious when you have a whole library to clean up.
