Hello Product Hunt Community 👋👋👋 Thank you for checking out our launch. We started off with the vision to streamline remote work. We believe that remote work isn’t just about working from home or working onsite, it's about Freedom! 💪 The freedom to choose any job anywhere in the world and working whenever you feel like working. While first part of this is already taken care of as there are countless remote opportunities for people living in all parts of the world. However, when it comes to work hours, majority companies end up fixing shift hours according to one timezone so that everyone is available to collaborate. This synchronous form of remote work is one of the biggest challenge that remote workers face today & are still looking for ways in which everyone can work hours which suit them while not compromising on team productivity and togetherness. Async work is the future of remote work as its the most scalable way to build remote teams. We identified two major issues which make it difficult for remote teams to go async. 🔆 Team Availabilities: With no fixed hours there can be chaos, you don’t know when to expect anyone, for all you know someone could be on leave and you keep waiting for them to respond. 🗯️ Work Updates: Most meetings are normally sync-ups & progress updates calls. If teams were to go async, how can everyone stay updated on the progress team has made. We addressed the team availabilities issue through the good old Attendance & PTO management plug-ins which work right from Slack, MS Teams & Lark. Using these plug-ins everyone in the team knows who’s available for a quick huddle or who won’t be coming in today. To increase work visibility, the first thing that we built was a daily check-in questionnaire which team members have to answer as they start their day. Some of our power users suggested that since they manage their sprints in Jira so they would love to have Remoty integrated with Jira. We’ve therefore built this integration in a novel way as not only does it work as a traditional time tracker for Jira issues but it also increases work visibility, decreases context switching while ensuring that all Jira issues are updated instantaneously. Very excited to hear the feedback & see if this integration really adds any value for our new & existing users! Cheers! 🥂

sounds like a great idea, we tried a few plugins before but it never really worked, need to give this a go
@highgroundio Yes pleasee! 🙏 We've had amazing feedback pouring in from the beta users. The ICs/engineers using it day in & out love it since they don't have to jump here & there and break context. On a side note, do you find any value in the activity log (one shown in the last gallery image)?
Mark Lamb
@mahad_ahmed yea i thibnk its a must - lets be honest, accountability is key, it might not be something we all look at every day but we would sure take comfort in knowing its there. its also essential to determine the full amount of time allocated to a project, if its not tracked at that granular level you'll never be able to add it all up at the end or track as you go, especially against budget
@highgroundio Exactlyyy! I can't even begin to count the number of times when engineers would just start logging time randomly at the end of sprint or whenever a PM would have to turn in the timesheets. 🤦🏻 My understanding is that majority of logs rather than helping you see the complete picture, paint a false one altogether. 🙁
Mark Lamb
😹 LOL
@mahad_ahmed yea man, like 'oh what blackhole can i dump this time into' 🤣
@highgroundio IKRRR! 🤦🏻😂

👏👏👏 Congratulations on your launch! 🎉 I'm super excited to see the integration with Jira and how it increases work visibility and decreases context switching. Could you tell us a bit more about how this integration works? Also, are there any use cases that you’d like to share? Keep up the amazing work! 🤩
Fatimah Zafar
@paolo_degiglio Thank you so much for your kind words 🤩 In order to enable this integration, you just have to follow a 2-step process in order to see this two way synchronization between Remoty & Jira in action. The Jira Time Tracker by Remoty when working in Slack is proven to be a powerful tool for tracking, managing, and optimizing team managers’ time, helping them work more efficiently and effectively on other important tasks as it offers the following: 👉 Time Tracking for Project Management → You won’t have to waste your time in going to Jira workspace, searching for a project, locating the target and then seeing the logged time on a specific project by a specific employee. 👉 Increase Team Productivity → By keeping a track of who has delivered how many stories/issues in a certain period of time. 👉 Identify Potential Blockers → you will be able to identify blockers from miles away as you’ll have your team’s activity logs + 👉 Track progress of the team → progress notes added by the employees are displayed in a single view which can help you see the complete story in one frame. 👉 Analyze Task return ratios → with Jira issues being updated instantaneously & accurately, you will have more understanding on how much time does it take for an issue or a ticket to transition from one status to another. 👉 Accurate SLA fulfillment insights → When you will have a better idea of your task return ratios as you can get a compete overview in just one screen dashboard, your SLA insights will automatically get improved 👉 Project ROIs → You’ll have a better understanding which project is taking more time than its fair share. With accurate time logs you have a much clearer understanding where to cut costs & save money. 👉 Team Collaboration → The integration of Jira time tracker and Slack will facilitate team collaboration by allowing team members to discuss and resolve issues related to any issue in real time & that too right from their team communication tool. 👉 Better Performance Evaluation → By tracking time spent on specific tasks, team leaders or managers can evaluate the performance of individual team members, helping them make data-driven decisions about project assignments and resource allocation. 👉 Billing and Invoicing → For teams that bill clients based on the time spent on projects, our Jira time tracker integrated with Slack will provide an accurate record of the time spent on each task, making it easier to generate invoices and manage billing. 👉 Task Reminders → Remoty sends reminders to team members to log their time, ensuring that all hours worked are accurately recorded and no working hours are left unrecorded Do explore & play around our platform. Looking forward to hear your feedback 🤩🤩
Kshitij Mohan
Hey @mahad_ahmed, congrats on the launch. Curious to know how the developer time is actually tracked? Is it a manual input by the developer or you pick some data points from the tools?
Fatimah Zafar
@mahad_ahmed @kshitij_mohan Thank you so much 🙏 We have designed a very lightweight & intuitive process where developers start and end their day by using simple shortcuts in their team communication tools like Slack, MS Teams or Lark. Remoty automatically creates timesheets for each employee by recording the time between clock-in and clock-out (including all the break times in between). The Team Leads or the Project Managers have access to live status of their employees in Remoty's web application. Really like that you're trying to give more visibility into tracking different tasks in JIRA. It can be really hard to quantify if someone is struggling with a specific engineering task. This will help employees/managers to better manage expectations. Would be cool if you had a tagging strategy that you could incorporate that would help engineering managers without all of the context better understand how long something should take. This could be an OAuth integration with Google for example with the tag OAuth as a reference on the JIRA ticket. Also, would be awesome if you made it easier to consume data about your engineers with analytics that is out-of-the-box that aren't necessarily supported in JIRA.
Mohammad Owais Basit
@cjries Thank you for your amazing feedback! 🙏🏼 We are already working on new designs to provide out-of-the-box analytics, combining data not just from Jira but other daily utility tools as well. Using Google OAuth for tagging in order to gather key insights sounds like a great idea! 💡

This is an interesting concept. It sounds like you've thought through the issues associated with asynchronous work and have developed a comprehensive solution that could solve them. Keep up the good work @rameen_zafar, @mahad_ahmed & @muhammad_owais2
Fatimah Zafar
@heyumarkhan Thank you so much for checking out our launch 🤩🤩 We aim to streamline team processes for remote/hybrid team with asynchronous work mode. Looking forward to achieving the goal. 🚀
