Hi, I’m Nick 👋. I created Remind Me Faster. This app exists because it took too long to get something out of my head and into Apple Reminders (without talking to Siri - sometimes talking just isn’t convenient). The friction meant I’d often get distracted or not add things at all. Remind Me Faster eliminates that friction. It aims to do one thing well: get tasks into Apple Reminders as fast as possible. It complements the Reminders app on your phone, rather than replacing it. Integrating with Reminders means you also get notifications that stick to the lock screen, which I believe still isn’t available to other apps. Key features: • Set time or date alerts using natural language - e.g. "Reply to Mike tomorrow 10am". • Set time or date alerts with a tap, using preset times or durations. • Set location alerts with two taps. • Choose any list to add to. • Set priority (• ! !! !!!) • Lock Screen launcher widget • Share sheet extension • URL scheme support • Alternative app icons Most functionality is available for free, with some one-off IAPs for extra features. Additional notes: 1. I built Remind Me Faster v1.0 ~8 years ago, and then posted it here 5 years ago. I’ve released many updates since then, including natural language support and location alerts. Recently I’ve refreshed the design/animations and added a share extension. 2. Many newer Reminders features (like tags and subtasks) aren’t available in Remind Me Faster because Apple’s EventKit API doesn’t support them yet. When/if that happens, I’ll add them. That said, I still personally use this all the time even without those newer features, so perhaps others will too. I hope you find it as useful as I do. I've always got more planned, and I’d love to hear any feedback you have. Feel free to reach out here, or via the contact links in the app.

This is interesting. But aren’t you in danger of apple just copying this feature and integrating into their OS?
Nick Leith
@lohith_ry Yep, always a danger, though that's been the case for 8 years and it hasn't happened yet. I imagine it will happen eventually but until then I hope people find this app useful :).

@remindmefaster Been using it, it helps alot :)

I'm an avid user of Remind Me Faster. I have all of the paid features. Nick has developed the most polished version of the app over the years and has been consistently supportive of feature requests and bug reports. He was kind enough to compliment me, noting that I was one of the top users of the app based on the number of reminders I'd created. I'd love to see a robust Mac version of this app someday. All the best. P.S.: I hope the app doesn't get Sherlocked with the new Type to Siri with Apple Intelligence in the picture. @remindmefaster

@krjsn Hello Krishna! Thanks for the comment and providing feedback over the years :D. Would definitely like to develop a proper Mac app one day. Not sure when yet. I've been wondering about the new type to Siri too. I'm keen to try it out and see how it compares in speed. Even if you're only using natural language for the reminder, my suspicion is that RMF will still remain slightly faster because Siri would need you to type "remind me to... " before your task, I expect. Then there's list switching, and the other fields. We'll see though! (and the new 'type to Siri' is certainly beautiful either way).

The best companion for Apple Reminders, I love it. I highly recommend it if you use Apple Reminders on your daily basis. Tip: add the shortcut to your Lock Screen. Excellent job @remindmefaster!
Nick Leith
@josealvarezn Thanks so much José. Agreed on the Lock Screen shortcut. I didn't expect it to make as big of a difference as it does. By skipping over the Home Screen entirely you effectively avoid any other app distracting you.

Hi @remindmefaster Congratulations on the product launch! Hopefully this will be a successful first step and open up many new opportunities. We are confident that this product will have a positive impact and meet customer needs. Good luck for the future 👏👏

That's actually one of a few things that stopping me from switching to reminders for daily stuff :) Mac app would be also so welcome!
Nick Leith
@alexandroff_i If you give it a go I'd love to know how you find it - feel free to reach out if you do. You can use this app on Apple Silicon Macs, and it works fairly well, but it's not optimised for them. At some point I'd really like to build a proper Mac version, but no promises yet. I need to find the time first.

@remindmefaster I totally understand you mate! As for the idea, I've been building a similar thing for notion (don't have time for it now) The idea is that you can click a hotkey in any place of the system and get a quick capture window with NLP and all the stuff. You can find similar mechanics in Things or Todoist and it's quite handy if you need to capture smth on a fly. Anyways, the issue with free time is the worst thing for solo-makers and I'm happy to support you on your journey 🫂

Hi Nick, great job on launching Remind Me Faster! The concept of minimizing friction to quickly capture tasks is so essential, especially in our fast-paced lives. I love how it enhances the Apple Reminders experience rather than replacing it, making it a perfect companion for those already using the app. The natural language feature is a game changer—no one enjoys fumbling with manual entries when a quick phrase will do! Also, the lock screen launcher widget sounds super convenient for grabbing tasks on the go. Can’t wait to try it out! It's impressive that you've been continuously updating the app over the years. Your commitment to improving user experience really shows. I’m particularly interested in how the IAPs are structured—are there plans for future features that might leverage Apple's EventKit API when it becomes available? Looking forward to seeing more from you and the team! Best of luck with the future updates and features. Upvoted!
Nick Leith
@blankwebdev Many thanks! I hope you find it useful. And yeah the Lock Screen launcher makes a surprisingly big difference to not getting sidetracked, in my experience. If & when the EventKit API is updated to include more Reminders features I'll certainly adopt these capabilities in Remind Me Faster. That's really on Apple's timeline though; They haven't updated it in a while (for Reminders), but here's hoping for next year 🤞.
