A free macOS menu bar app. Type "ghbdsn" with the wrong layout on and Rekey rewrites it to "привіт" and switches the layout for you. No hotkey, 34 languages, and your text never leaves your Mac.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Taras, a developer from Ukraine. I type in Ukrainian and English all day, and I kept typing whole words in the wrong layout. On Windows, Punto Switcher fixed that. On the Mac, the tools I tried were built mostly around English and Russian, so I built Rekey for any mix of layouts.
It watches each finished word. If the word reads as gibberish in the current layout but as a real word in another installed layout, Rekey rewrites it and switches the layout. It uses dictionaries and letter-pair statistics per language, not a lookup table. Short words like "f" wait for the next word before Rekey decides. Cmd+Z undoes a correction and teaches it to leave that word alone.
It's free and in public beta. I'd love to hear which language pairs work badly for you, since that's the most useful thing to fix next.
