How does it handle really stubborn scans where the text is super faint and the background is almost black, does it still manage to pull out something readable?
@alaykuw It depends on how much signal is still left in the scan.
If the text is faint but still visible, RedesignPDF can often improve contrast and make it more readable. But if the background is almost black and the text is nearly lost, it may not be able to fully recover it.
The tool is better at visual cleanup than true restoration or OCR. For very bad scans, I’d suggest trying one page first and checking the preview before processing more pages.
Does it keep the original page layout intact, or does it sometimes need to guess at what got lost in the scan?
Finally something that handles those stubborn gray backgrounds from old scans. Tried it on a 90s document and the text actually pops now without looking over-processed.
@erolsabrlviy2 Thanks for trying it, Erol. That’s exactly the kind of scan I had in mind when building it: old documents where the gray background makes everything feel muddy, but you still want the page to look natural after cleanup.
