Red Light Therapy Dose Calculator is a free tool from BioHackingTested that helps estimate session time based on target dose, irradiance, and treatment goal. Instead of relying on generic “10-minute session” advice, it gives users a more structured starting point for red light therapy protocols.
Hey Product Hunt — I’m Fred, founder of BioHackingTested.
I built this calculator because most red light therapy advice is too vague.
A lot of product pages say something like “use for 10 minutes,” but that number means very little without context. Session time depends on the target dose, device irradiance, treatment distance, and what area you’re trying to treat.
This calculator is not medical advice and it does not promise results. It is a practical starting point for people who want to stop guessing and think more clearly about dose, time, and distance.
Why I made it:
- generic session advice is confusing;
- many devices do not explain dose clearly;
- skin and deep-tissue goals should not use the same assumptions;
- beginners need a safer starting framework;
- red light therapy should be discussed with more precision and less hype.
I’d love feedback from the PH community — especially around the UX, inputs, and whether the calculator explains the assumptions clearly enough.
Thanks for checking it out.
