Recora is a Mac screen recorder that does the first edit for you: zooms on your clicks, a smooth cursor and on-device captions. It also records both sides of calls, even on headphones. Everything stays on your Mac. 3-day free trial.

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I'm Abhishek, and I built Recora on my own.
I record a lot of product demos and bug reports, and every one meant 20 minutes of zooming in on clicks by hand. The tools that do this well are great, but I also wanted two things they didn't give me: recordings that never leave my Mac, and calls recorded properly. On headphones, the macOS recorder only hears my side.
So Recora: • Edits itself. Open a recording and it's already zoomed where you clicked, with a smooth redrawn cursor and shortcut overlays. Move any zoom, add your own, change the background and layout. • Records both sides of calls. Your Mac's audio and your mic go on separate tracks, even on headphones. It notices Slack huddles and offers to record. • Captions on-device. Apple's speech engine writes the transcript with You/Them labels. Export SRT/VTT or burn them in. • Stays local. Every recording is a plain folder in ~/Movies. No account needed to record, no cloud, no upload.
It's written in Rust and Swift, exports up to 4K60 on the GPU, and the download is about 6 MB. It needs macOS 26 on Apple silicon.
There's a 3-day free trial, then $19/month or $108/year. I'd love to hear what you'd record with it and what's missing. I'm here all day to answer questions.
