Hi Product Hunt 👋 I built Read in Romaji to solve a small but frustrating problem I kept running into as a new Japanese learner myself: real Japanese websites can feel overwhelming before you are fully comfortable with kana and kanji. Most tools either translate the page into English or make you copy text back and forth into another app. Read in Romaji is meant to be a lighter bridge. It adds romaji reading guides directly on Japanese webpages, so learners can stay with the original Japanese text while getting help with kanji, hiragana, and katakana. It is useful for reading articles, blogs, forums, comments, product pages, and everyday Japanese websites without constantly switching tabs. The goal is not to replace Japanese with English. The goal is to make real Japanese reading feel less intimidating while still helping learners practice with the original language. I’d love to hear feedback from Japanese learners, language teachers, and anyone who has struggled with reading real Japanese online.
