QuizFromText turns study material you paste in — lecture notes, textbook excerpts, training docs — into a multiple-choice practice quiz with explanations, plus flashcards generated from the same text. There is no sign-up wall: open the site, paste, and start practicing. The free tier allows 3 quizzes a day with up to 5,000 characters each. Pro ($9/month or $72/year) raises the limits for heavier study routines.

Hi Product Hunt — I'm Liro, an indie developer from China, and this is my first launch here. I built QuizFromText because of a frustration I kept having while studying: re-reading my notes felt productive, but it wasn't. What actually helped was being questioned on the material — and making good questions by hand takes longer than the studying itself. So the tool is deliberately simple: paste your notes, get a multiple-choice quiz with explanations, plus flashcards generated from the same text so the two stay in sync. Two things I cared about while building it: 1. No sign-up wall. Tools I tried made me create an account and verify my email before I could paste a single paragraph. QuizFromText works the moment you land on it — the free tier gives you 3 quizzes a day, up to 5,000 characters each, no account needed. 2. Question quality rules. Raw AI-generated quizzes have tells: the correct answers cluster on the same letter, distractors are obviously wrong, and the "explanations" just restate the answer. I tested a popular alternative and saw exactly that — answers skewed to one option and explanations with nothing new in them. So QuizFromText generates under explicit quality rules: deduplicated questions, plausible distractors, balanced answer positions (no letter correct more than 40% of the time), and explanations that have to add context beyond the answer itself. Pro ($9/month or $72/year) is live for anyone who needs higher limits. This is a small solo project — it launched on October 28 and I'm iterating in public. I'd genuinely like your feedback: Paste the hardest material you have — where do the questions miss or go shallow? Are the explanations actually helpful to you, or noise? What would make you switch from your current tool: Anki/PDF export, more question types (true/false, fill-in), or something else? Thanks for taking a look. I'll be here all day answering. — Liro
