Cigarette Counter to Cut Down

Most quit-smoking apps give you one option: pick a date, stop, white-knuckle it. Smoless does the opposite. Log each cigarette with one tap, and your first days set a baseline from how much you actually smoke. When your average drops below your goal, Smoless offers a small step down. Cravings shrink with your count instead of hitting all at once, and a plan shows the steps left to zero with a smoke-free date you can believe.

Hi Product Hunt 👋 I’m Nick, solo developer of Smoless.
I smoke. I’ve tried quitting cold turkey more times than I want to count, and the longest I ever held was two weeks. Then one bad day, one cigarette, and I was back to a full pack and feeling like a failure. At some point I stopped blaming myself and started blaming the method, and decided to try the other way: cut down gradually instead of stopping dead. It’s working so far, and Smoless is the tool I built to do it.
Almost every quit-smoking app is built around one idea: pick a quit date, stop, count the days. That works for some people. For a lot of us it means fail, feel like garbage, start again at zero.
Smoless takes the other route - reduction to quit:
• You log each cigarette with one tap. Your first days set a baseline from your real number, not a target someone else picked.
• When your recent average drops under your goal, the app offers a small step down. You accept it or not. It’s never automatic and the goal never goes back up.
• The plan screen shows the steps left to zero and a smoke-free date that moves as you do.
The point is that cravings shrink along with your count, instead of hitting all at once on day one.
It’s on iOS and Android now.
I’d love to hear two things: if you’ve tried to quit before, what made you relapse? And if you’ve used other quit apps, what did they get wrong? Happy to answer anything about how the step-down logic works.
