Quilt arranges your Mac windows for you. Open a window and it takes its place; close one and the rest fill the gap. Choose Grid, Columns, Rows or Side, with up to five windows per screen and a separate layout for each display. Extra windows stack in a tile, Focus fills the screen with one window, and every shortcut can be changed. Needs only the Accessibility permission. No account, no analytics. One payment.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Jyothi Prasanth, the maker of Quilt.
Quilt is a menu-bar app for Mac that arranges windows by itself. Open a window and it takes the next free tile. Close one and the others grow to fill the space. You pick a layout (Grid, Columns, Rows or Side) and how many windows each screen holds, and Quilt remembers it for each screen.
What else it does:
- When a screen is full, extra windows stack in a tile instead of floating over the others
- Focus makes one window fill the screen, and the same key puts everything back
- Drag a window onto another tile to swap them, drag the line between tiles to resize
- Mark any app as one that always floats and Quilt leaves it alone
- Every shortcut can be changed in Settings
It needs one permission, Accessibility, so it can move and resize windows. It never reads what is inside a window. No account, no analytics.
A few honest notes: it needs macOS 26 and Apple silicon. It can't tile full-screen apps, because macOS gives each its own space. There is no free trial, so the website has a working demo you can play with. It's a one-time purchase ($4.99 launch price) and purchases are final, with two exceptions on the refund page.
I'll be here all day.
Tell me which apps it struggles with and I'll look at them.
