Hi Product Hunt 👋
I'm Anshuman, and I built QuietBrowse on my own, in my spare time.
I wanted an ad blocker that showed me who was tracking me, by name, without sending my browsing to anyone else's servers to do it. So everything in QuietBrowse runs locally. It has no account, no analytics and no telemetry, and your settings and stats are deleted when you uninstall it.
What it does:
• Blocks ads and trackers using EasyList and EasyPrivacy, refreshed daily
• Rejects cookie banners and strips tracking tags (utm, fbclid, gclid) from links
• Uncloaks trackers disguised as part of the site you're on
• Lists every tracker on a page by name, and gives each site a trust score
• Adds best-effort safety extras: a password shield, phishing warnings and a download guard
• Has per-site modes, a "Fix this site" button and an element zapper
It scores 96/100 on adblock-tester.com, and the code is open source (GPL-3.0), so you can check all of this.
It's still small, with a couple of dozen users, so honest feedback really helps. What's confusing? What breaks? What would make you switch? I'll be here all day answering questions.
Thanks for taking a look!
