Where did you put the passport? The spare keys? That one cable you only use twice a year? Put Where remembers β for you, and for your whole family. Snap a photo as you put something away: AI recognizes the item (even several at once) and logs its place in seconds. Search later by name or description, and share the library with your family through iCloud. Records stay on your device and in your own iCloud. Free to download, no account to create.

Hi Product Hunt π I'm Bai, an indie developer, and I built Put Where after one too many household searches.
The pattern in my family was always the same: something used only a few times a year β the emergency kit, a spare cable, an important document β would be put "somewhere safe," and months later we'd turn drawers and cabinets upside down looking for it, leaving everything messier than before. And if someone else had put it away, the only way to find it was to ask that person.
So I built the thing we needed:
πΈ One photo is enough. AI recognizes the item and logs where you put it β a record takes seconds. It can even recognize several items in a single photo, so you can capture a whole drawer (tape measure, screwdriver, tape, pliersβ¦) in one shot instead of item by item.
π Search works the way memory fails. Look things up by name, by a few letters, or just describe the item when you can't remember what it's called.
π¨βπ©βπ§ It's built for households, not just individuals. The library is shared with your family in real time through iCloud β whoever puts something away, everyone can find it.
π Privacy was a hard requirement for me: records stay on your device and in your own iCloud, photos go to the official AI only with your consent, and you can even plug in your own OpenAI-compatible model instead. There's no account to create, and most of the app works offline.
Put Where is free to download on iOS (some features like iCloud sync, shared libraries, and the official AI require a subscription or purchase). It speaks 17 languages, and Android is in the works.
I'd genuinely love your feedback:
β Which room or category of stuff is hardest for your household to keep track of?
β What would make you trust an app with your family's "map of everything"?
I'll be here all day answering questions. Thank you for checking it out π
