Purrsuit gives cats an interactive game to play on a phone or tablet. I used GPT-6 Astra as a development partner to turn that idea into a working product: 12 custom 3D playmates, animal-specific movement and sounds, paw-tap scoring, and individual cat profiles. It also helped translate feedback from iPad playtests with my cats into improvements, including off-screen escapes and better tablet layouts. Astra helped build and refine the game; gameplay itself runs in the browser without live AI calls. This is the beginning. I plan to keep building alongside Astra, using feedback from cats and their humans to make Purrsuit a more polished product, with native iOS and Android apps as a longer-term goal.

Hey Product Hunt! I built Purrsuit for a very demanding audience: my cats (and your cats) 🐾 I wanted a game they could play on an iPhone or iPad, with little creatures to chase, sounds to catch their attention, and a profile for each cat. Let's be real, you and I probably have more than one cat. Working with GPT-6 Astra and Codex, I took Purrsuit from emoji animals floating around to custom 3D playmates with their own movements and habitats. Butterflies flutter, frogs crouch and hop, jellyfish pulse through the water, and translucent ghosts slip through the windows of a spooky Victorian mansion. There are now 12 playmates, adjustable speed and playmate count, and points for every successful paw tap. The best part has been testing it with my actual cats on an iPad. They’re into it! Watching them play prompted the latest addition. Playmates can disappear off-screen and return from another direction to keep the chase going. My wife has also been helping with direct and feedback, especially on the haunted house. Give it a try ahead of spooky season 👻 I’m entering Purrsuit in the GPT-6 Astra Challenge. This project has been a fun loop of imagining something, building it with AI, putting it in front of real paws, and making it better over time. If you try it with your cat, I’d love to hear which playmate gets their attention. What creature or habitat should we add next? Feedback very much welcome! I want to continue building this. Eventually, I'll make native iOS and Android apps to publish on their respective app stores.
