Purili is a privacy-first search engine that owns its entire stack - crawler, index, ranking, corrections and APIs - running on dedicated EU infrastructure with 100M+ pages indexed and growing. No profiles, no ad auctions, no external dependency for core web search.
Hi ProductHunt, I am very interested to hear what you all think of Purili! I do have a small comment, I removed a lot of spam from the results causing the index to shrink from 105mln to 75mln but in a few days the index will be back at 100. :)
How are you handling the freshness problem with your own crawler at only 100M pages, especially for news or rapidly changing topics where Google typically dominates?
@sinempakerwa7f nice question! I am currently crawling most of the top (most popular) sites, and for fresh news results there is purili news which every ~30 minutes updates the articles shown and adds these to the index as well. For general results they may be reindexed once every few months or so. The long term goal is a few billion HQ pages over trying to index the entire web.
Finally a search engine that feels calm and direct, with results that actually match what I typed without sponsored clutter. Liked that it doesn't try to build a profile around me.
