Punctum shows your own EPUB, PDF, TXT, DOCX or DRM-free MOBI files one word at a time, with longer pauses at punctuation. Page flow keeps the surrounding lines in view while words advance. For PDFs, Text opens the original page with the current word marked; tap any word to continue from there. Add web articles by URL or paste text. No account; files are read on your device. 18 languages, including right-to-left.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Eren, and I built Punctum.
It's an RSVP reader: one word at a time, each one aligned on the letter your eye tends to land on, so your gaze stays still instead of tracking a line. You bring your own books (EPUB, PDF, TXT, DOCX, DRM-free MOBI), a web article by URL or pasted text. No account, and files are parsed on your phone.
The newest addition is Page flow. The usual complaint about RSVP is losing the page: you can't glance back or see where you are. In Page flow the words still advance one by one, but the surrounding lines stay visible. You can swipe between the two modes mid-book. With PDFs you can also open the original page, see the word you're on, and tap any word to continue from there.
What it doesn't do: I don't claim reading faster improves comprehension. The app starts at a moderate pace, lets you slow down or reread, and suggests breaks.
Two AI features are optional and off until you agree: comprehension questions, and a short recap when you return to a book after a couple of days. Those send the relevant passage to Google Gemini; ordinary reading never does.
Pricing: about 100 pages free, then a one-time book pack or a yearly plan. No ads.
I'd love to hear what feels natural or awkward about reading this way.
