I built PromiseKaro from repeated personal frustration. I love travelling, and I was always the person who made the plan, checked dates, picked places, and even took leaves in advance because everyone said “done bro, this time pakka.” Then the plan would slowly collapse. One friend’s office work came in. Another had a family function. Sometimes everyone backed out one by one, and I was just left with cancelled leaves and a broken plan. This did not happen only with travel. I’ve seen the same thing in normal life too. Even in personal goals, we all say “from tomorrow I’ll start seriously” and then nothing changes. That made me think: the real problem is not intention. People do mean it in the moment. The problem is that promises are too easy to break because nothing is really on the line. So I built PromiseKaro. It adds simple accountability to a promise. Put money behind your word, set a deadline, let friends vote or trusted people review, get your money back if you keep it, and if you fail, let that money still do some good. Now when someone makes a big promise to me, I just say: Do it on PromiseKaro.
