Does the offline Vosk engine support different languages out of the box, or do you have to download separate model files for each one you want to use?
Subtitles popped up within a second of hitting play, which honestly surprised me for something running fully offline. Sync calibration was straightforward too.
Ran it with VLC on a quiet podcast episode and the captions came through surprisingly clean without any network lag. The audio sync slider was a nice touch for catching up on slight drift mid-video.
How well does the Vosk engine hold up with accented English or heavy background noise in real world use?
Love that the calibration sliders are front and center, that attention to the timing details most tools ignore is exactly what separates a real player from a toy.
