Food tracking sucks. You remember to snap a pic, re-estimate portions, then… do nothing with it. Powtain is a photo-first food & micronutrient tracker: snap a meal, chat with Powpow to fix the log, and get nudges toward how you want to feel — more energy, lighter lunches, you name it. Not just a food diary, but a buddy that keeps you on track and lets you share progress with your community.
This is the 2nd launch from Powtain. View more

Hi Product Hunt, I've always wanted a better relationship with food, but everything out there felt too serious. Late at night I’d be eating my ice creams and chips, feeling a bit guilty, and thinking “I should track this,” but the usual apps threw me into calories, macros, and charts I didn’t know how to use realistically. I’d stick with it for a bit, see the same stats over and over, and then drop it. I didn’t want a weight-loss app, a gym-bro tracker, or a medical dashboard. I just wanted a gentle way to move toward what I already cared about: feeling better in my body, getting enough vitamins, maybe losing a bit of weight, without needing hours of research. That’s why we built Powtain. Powtain is a photo-first food & micronutrient tracker. You snap your meals, and it estimates not just calories but vitamins and minerals too. If something’s off, you just chat with Powpow (“I only ate half”, “this was fried chicken”) and your log gets updated. Instead of overwhelming stats, Powtain focuses on simple, friendly insights and nudges: when you’re low on certain nutrients, and how your meals line up with how you want to feel. It’s not just a food diary, but a small buddy helping you feel less guilt and a bit more in control each meal. If you like, you can also share your food pictures with your own community just for the extra entertainment 😆 If you’re someone who already wants to be healthier but doesn’t have the money or time for a professional, we made Powtain for you. Happy to answer any questions and would love your feedback ❤️
