Pondie Tab turns every new tab into a calm, playful space with an interactive frog companion. It follows your cursor, reacts to clicks, typing and music, and stays local-first: no tracking, no accounts, and only the storage permission.
Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built **Pondie Tab** because I wanted every new tab to feel a little more alive without turning it into another dashboard.
The idea is simple: a tiny frog companion that greets you when you open a tab, follows your cursor with its eyes, blinks, breathes, hops when poked, and can be dragged around the page. It also has small reactions for typing and music, so it feels less like a static illustration and more like a little presence in the background.
I kept the rest intentionally quiet:
- Pastel backgrounds, a minimal clock and a custom greeting.
- Local-first storage for your preferences.
- No account, tracking, analytics or network requests.
- Only the `storage` permission.
- Vanilla TypeScript + Canvas 2D, open source under MIT.
Pondie Tab is not trying to optimize your life or replace your task manager. It is just a small moment of warmth for the many tabs we open during a workday.
I would love feedback on the feeling, not just the feature list: does the frog feel charming, distracting, or somewhere in between? Which interaction should I build next?
