Hi Product Hunt 👋
I built PointPoker because of an ad
During a sprint refinement, our meeting organizer was sharing their screen and a Price Drop Alert - Flights to Italy 🇮🇹 banner appeared across the top of the planning poker tool. The whole team saw it. Someone asked if they were planning a trip. Cringeworthy uncomfortable laughter followed.
It happened again. Then a third time, this time it was jeans.
That third session is when I stopped looking for a better tool and started building one. The ads weren't a bug in those tools, they were the business model. The only way to get rid of them was to build something with no ads.
So I did...no ads, no signup, no install. Share a link, everyone joins, you vote, you get things done and leave. That was v1.
Since then it's grown to add more features, story queues, Slack integration, Chrome extension for importing Jira stories, Jira integration, observer mode, session recaps, facilitator handoff, auto-rejoin, async voting and more. Still free. Still no ads.
Happy to answer anything! 🚀
Love how frictionless this is, especially the no account thing. One thing that would really help our team: let the facilitator set a confidence level per story after reveal, kind of a quick thumbs up or down on how sure the group felt about the estimate. Would make retros on tough tickets way easier when we look back at the recap.
@emirsedefc29601 Great Idea! Thank You! A quick how confident are we? gut check right after the reveal would be a the signal that seperates from the number itself. I am thinking one tap confidence button once the cards flip over. I could roll this in to a session recap as well so that the solid or shaky estimates can be surfaced at a glance. Definitely adding it to the backlog.
Curious -> Do you see this as a spread per person or as a single call per story?
