My kids are growing up between four languages: French with mom, Hebrew with dad, Dutch outside, and English as a family, so learning new things can be a linguistic adventure!
They’re just hitting that stage of endless curiosity, and I really want to encourage all the “why?” questions. But I’m far from knowing everything, and I don’t want every question to lead to another YouTube video and definitely not to an open discussion with an AI chatbot.
So I built a parent-led way to turn their questions into short audio episodes.
It’s called Podcust, you pick a topic, age, language, and length, and it creates a mini episode they can listen to in the car, over breakfast, or while drawing.
My wife made them a 5-minute episode in French about what lawyers do. I’ve been using it to help them build Hebrew vocabulary through episodes about the solar system. We’ve also made plenty of Dutch episodes for the more complicated questions they bring home.
Anyway, it started as something for our family, but it feels worth sharing with the world.
It’s live now as a web app. If parents find it useful, I’ll invest in building the mobile app too. New users get 10 free credits when they join, and I’d love feedback from parents, so let me know what you think!

I love the idea of audio instead of yet another screen app. I would suggest adding a demo mode without registration or adding a video/screencast of the creation process to the main page. Right now, IMO, it creates unnecessary friction for potential users - they need to login to try. People nowadays are careful with sharing their data, even email address.
Multi-language support is not clear from Home Page as well. There's a block about it somewhere below - I personally had to use cmd+F to find what languages are supported, because I was confused to see examples in Hebrew and German at first. Maybe adding a flag icon to the card itself - would be a good signal, that multi-language support exists.
Another low-hanging fruit to me would be adding a listening without registration - if potential user could browse through the existing shared materials - it would open the gate for more listeners, not only creators. It's fun to create new episodes for your children, and maybe together with them, but not everyone has time/desire for it. For example, I would be interested to open all available episodes, filter them by language or subject and play them as a playlist while driving. Some features could be hidden only for registered users (bookmarking, stats, history). But free to play - would be nice for everybody.
Keep going, it definitely has potential and good luck!
