A full pixel-art studio for game art: palettes, rigs, tiles, animation and engine exports. Draw it all by hand, or connect Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor and watch it draw with you, live, with no credits or token meters.

Hi!
I built https://pixelwright.app/, a browser pixel-art editor with an MCP server, so the AI you already use (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code) can draw in it.
Why: most AI sprite tools run their own image model and sell credits. The output often isn't real pixel art (soft edges, colors and details drifting between frames), and retries burn credits. But I noticed my regular Claude could make decent pixel art when it had proper tools and instructions.
How it works: no model runs on our servers. Your assistant calls editor tools: palette-locked drawing, layers, frames, and a character rig built from parts with whole-pixel offsets, so an animation reuses the same parts instead of redrawing the character every frame. After each step it gets a rendered preview back, so it can see what it did and undo. A linter flags common pixel-art problems (stray pixels, banding, broken loops), and short guides teach technique: ramps, outlines, timing.
The main thing I learned: LLMs are bad at writing raw pixel grids beyond small sizes, but they do well when the tools work with shapes, palette ramps and rig parts, and when they can see a render after every step.
You watch it draw live, stroke by stroke, and you can take over at any point. The editor also works with no AI at all.
Try it: the editor works without an account, and there's a replay of Claude drawing and animating a knight. Connecting your own AI needs an account.
Exports: PNG, GIF, sprite sheets, Aseprite, Godot, Unity, PixiJS, Phaser.
You can check the art made by clode or gpt with our guidlines directly on link: https://pixelwright.app/gallery/
if you want to jump and test right away, Studio: https://studio.pixelwright.app/
heres how you connect your AI: https://pixelwright.app/connect/
Pricing: free tier with limited AI sessions; paid plans are $6 and $12/month. Also founding discount for first 500 seats. We pay nothing for inference, so there are no credits (what's your opinion about this).
It's early and rough in places. I'd especially love feedback from solo game-devs people who make pixel art by hand.
