Hey Product Hunt 👋
I built PitchCalc because nearly every "roofing calculator" online is a
contractor lead form in disguise — you enter your numbers, and the answer
is locked until you hand over your phone number. Homeowners standing in
the attic with a tape measure deserve better than a sales call.
So PitchCalc does the opposite: five free roof-math tools (pitch, sloped
area, roofing squares, shingle bundles, rafter length) that show the
number in about ten seconds. Results update as you type, the formulas
are printed right on the page so you can check the math yourself, and
everything runs locally in your browser — no account, no uploads,
nothing stored on a server. Copy or print the result and it reads like
a takeoff sheet you can hold up to a contractor.
It started as a single roof pitch calculator. Then I realized pitch is
just the first corner of the same triangle — once you have rise and run,
area, squares, bundles, and rafter length are all the same geometry, so
it grew into five pages on one engine.
I'd love to hear what roof-math task you still do by hand — waste
factors? valleys and hips? metric units? Tell me what's missing.
