Piletasks is a task manager built around dynamic task piles instead of rigid lists or boards. Tasks can be grouped, reordered, and moved between piles as priorities evolve. There is no enforced workflow or methodology, just a flexible way to organize work and quickly adapt when things change. Designed for people whose tasks do not fit neatly into kanbans or to-do lists.

Most task managers are built around rigid structures like lists, kanban boards, or projects. But in practice, my daily work rarely follows such a fixed structure. Priorities constantly shift, tasks move between contexts, and new things appear unexpectedly.
I found myself constantly reorganizing lists just to reflect what actually mattered at that moment.
Piletasks started as an attempt to model this more naturally. Instead of forcing tasks into static lists, I experimented with grouping them into flexible piles that can be reordered and reshaped as priorities evolve. The idea is simple: tasks should move easily as your focus changes.
During development I tried several approaches, including stricter stack-like behavior, but it quickly became clear that enforcing a specific method was counterproductive. The goal became flexibility rather than methodology.
The result is a lightweight tool designed for people whose work does not fit neatly into fixed workflows.
