Audio-first, not text-first. Every summary plays as a narrated audio file. You don't read it — you listen while commuting, cooking, or working out. Most YouTube summary tools give you a wall of text; Pico Brief gives you a podcast-length listen. This is the core differentiator. Custom topics. Users create their own interest profiles and the app surfaces relevant YouTube videos automatically. It's not just a summarizer — it's a personalized video discovery layer on top of YouTube.
Hey PH! 👋 I'm Daniel, the maker of Pico Brief.
The idea came from a specific frustration: I follow a lot of YouTube channels on finance, AI, and world events, but I never have time to sit and watch a 30-minute video. I'd bookmark them, forget them, and feel perpetually behind. Podcasts solved this for audio content — I could listen while commuting or cooking — but there was nothing like that for YouTube.
So I built Pico Brief. It generates a summary of any YouTube video and reads it back to you as audio. The whole experience is designed around listening, not reading.
I'd love to hear from you — what YouTube channels or topics would you most want this for? And if you try it, harsh feedback is very welcome. 🙏
