Apple Photos has a basic map, but it mixes your beautiful vacation shots with screenshots and saved memes. I wanted a dedicated travel dashboard, so I built PhoTrail.
PhoTrail is a 100% open-source, on-device app that turns your camera roll into an interactive travel log.
What it does:
📊 Travel Stats & Milestones: It tallies your visited countries/cities, calculates the percentage of the globe you've covered, and finds your "highest peak" or "furthest trip."
🎬 Year in Travel: Get a cinematic, "Wrapped-style" recap of your year’s travel distance and top destinations.
❤️ Apple Health Sync: It privately syncs with Apple Health to match your photos with your heart rate, climbs, and workouts during that specific trip.
🏛️ World Wonders: It automatically recognizes landmarks and the New 7 Wonders in your library.
