Most “edit text in image” tools still feel like mini-Photoshop: erase, pick a font, guess the color, hope it blends. PhoText is click-and-type. Upload a photo or screenshot, click any text, and type the new words. AI handles recognition, background repair, and matching font, color, size, and perspective so the edit looks like it was always there. Works on JPG, PNG, JPEG, WEBP, and BMP — posters, product shots, UI screenshots, signs. No layers, no PS skills.
I built PhoText because I kept needing to change a few words on a photo — a typo on a poster, a date on a screenshot, a label on a product shot — and every time it meant opening Photoshop, cloning the background, hunting for a matching font, and still ending up with something that looked “edited.”
The idea was simple: if you can click text on a webpage to change it, why not on an image?
That’s the whole product. Upload → click the text → type. The AI reconstructs the background and matches the original style so you don’t have to think about layers.
One thing I’m hoping this community can help with:
We first shipped on photext.shop, as a nod to Photoshop. Later we moved the official site to photext.ai. After that, lookalike sites appeared on other TLDs (.com, .net, .org, and similar). They use the PhoText name, copy the positioning, and some of them rank in Google for our brand.
The only official site is photext.ai. Everything else with that name is not us.
If you’ve dealt with this — brand impersonators, TLD squatters, clones ranking above the real product — I’d really like to hear what actually worked. Search Console, Google’s spam / impersonation reports, legal, something else. Comment or DM me. I’m trying to get Google to treat photext.ai as the official site and stop sending people to the copies.
And if you try the real product: I’d love a tough example — curved type, small text, messy screenshots. Drop it below and I’ll take a look.
