Meet Peti, your AI pet care companion. Scan pet food for instant safety scores, get personalized health guidance, and track everything - tailored to your pet's breed, age, and health history.

Hey everyone! 👋 James here, the creator behind Petio.
I built this after watching my own pet's health take a backseat because there was no single app that actually understood nutrition + personalized care. Most pet apps are either overly complex or just send you reminders.
Peti (the AI) is different it learns your pet's profile and becomes a real advisor. We built barcode scanning so pet parents can cut through marketing noise and make informed decisions.
We're 500+ users in and focused on product-market fit before scaling. If you're a pet owner who's been frustrated with existing tools, we'd love your feedback. And if you're an investor interested in the indie dev space, let's chat.
P.S. Launching on PH is huge for us. Thanks for the support! 🐕🐱
If you have pets, we'd love you to try it and let us know what we're missing https://apps.apple.com/us/app/petio-ai-pet-care-health/id6745301343
Shoutout to Ha Vy & our GOAT designer Xuan Ngoc for making this happen
How accurate is the food scanning actually in practice, like does it pull from a solid database of brands or is it guessing based on the label image?
@timocinvol6031 @timocinvol6031Great question! We don't guess or generate ingredients with AI. The app pulls ingredient information from a verified product database, and we always disclose the data source so users know exactly where the information comes from.
That decision was intentional because trust is especially important with AI-powered features. The tradeoff is that our product coverage grows only as fast as our database, so expanding support for more brands and products is one of our biggest ongoing priorities.
how accurate is the food scan really? like does it just read the ingredients list or can it flag stuff based on my specific dog's allergies too
@sadkmdrllo1e Yes It knows your pet very well. Like better than I know my pet sometimes, my cat has some allergy with chicken and we don't even know the food we fed them contains chicken until scan result cameback.
How accurate is the food safety scoring actually? I’ve seen a few apps throw around red flags on perfectly fine kibble, so I’m curious what database or method you’re using to back those scores up.
@metehangndzzzv I'm still an undergrad (broke af) so I had to utilize open source database like open food facts and manual crawling data off internet to make this work - its a hybrid approach. We have more plan to improve the coverage in coming weeks, for now lets give it a try :) I'd love to hear back from everyone
Scanned a few bags of dog food and the safety scores actually explained why certain ingredients were flagged, which felt more useful than I expected. The breed-specific health tips seem promising too.
Love how the scanner pulls instant safety scores from a photo instead of making you type out ingredients. That kind of zero-friction entry point is exactly what pet owners need when they're juggling a wiggly dog at dinnertime.
what kinds of gamification does it have built in?
