I read a lot of news and wanted a better way to share specific passages with my followers. Not just a link, not a clunky screenshot, but something that looked intentional and credited the source properly. Peekd is a Chrome extension that turns any highlighted article passage into a vertical quote card formatted for Instagram and TikTok stories. Highlight text on any news article, right-click, and you get a clean card with the quote, the publication, author, and article title. Plus a blurred preview of the surrounding text that gives viewers a glimpse into the article without giving everything away. A few things I'm proud of: * No account required: free users can generate and download cards immediately with no signup * No AI: it's just clean design and metadata parsing * Cards are exported entirely in the browser, so nothing is stored on my servers * The blur context effect is my favorite detail as it makes the card feel like a window into the article rather than a static image Paywalled content works too if you're already subscribed in the same browser session, since the extension reads the live DOM directly. This is version 1.0 and I'd genuinely love to hear what you think, especially from writers, journalists, and newsletter authors who share articles regularly.
