Peanut Split is a bill splitter for a group trip or a shared flat. Nobody makes an account. Set up a room with everyone's names in it and drop the link in the group chat. Each person taps their name and types what they paid.
Hugo and I built Split. Nobody signs up, so the room link is what lets a person in.
Anyone who gets that link can open the room and change anything in it. They can also take a name someone else is already using. We cannot switch a link off once it is out. If you lose it, we cannot get it back for you either.
No money moves through Split. It only records that someone said they paid.
Split is free and no paid version is planned. It exists to introduce people to Peanut, the payments app the same team builds. Peanut is a separate app and Split works without it.
What would stop you putting this in your own group chat?
can you do uneven splits? Among my friends there's a common situation when one person didn't drink and should not pay the full share for the bar tab. With equal payments that becomes the fight every single time

@slavik_fokin yes, you can do uneven splits with both % as well the $ amount! + try our restaurant bill scanner which is perfect for complex bills
the thing that killed splitwise for us was making 5 people install an app for a 3 day trip. two never did and I ended up doing the maths in notes anyway. link in the group chat is the right call. i am gonna use this every time i need to split a bill now 👍
@kushagrasarathe notes with 5 friends, multi currency sounds fun

Used with friends for a trip in Argentina, expenses in pesos and in dollars, settlements also mixed (in a different way). All easy, did not have to think about splitting at all.
Removing account creation is a smart choice for something people need quickly during trips or shared living. I upvoted Peanut Split. The simple room-and-link approach should make getting everyone involved much easier.
