Hey PH 👋 I kept downloading wake-up apps. The push-up one, the math one, the one that makes you photograph a barcode. None of them worked, and it took me a while to figure out why. The problem was never 6:30am. It was that I'd been awake since 1am doing nothing in particular. No alarm can fix a decision you already made the night before. So I built the other half. The part I didn't expect to matter: the videos stack up. Before you record tonight's excuse, it plays you last night's. Watching yourself say "just one more video" two nights running does more than any amount of noise. Technically it only became possible this year when AlarmKit shipped in iOS 26 and is the first time a third-party app can fire a real alarm that breaks through Silent and Focus. It's also barely documented, so most of the build was finding out what it actually does. Happy to go into that if anyone's curious. Everything runs on-device. No account, no server, works offline. Would love to know what you'd say at 1am.
