I’m Michael, the maker of OVO.
I listen to music everywhere. My own listening life is spread across Apple Music, Spotify, SoundCloud, YouTube Music, and a local collection I’ve built over years. Living with that fragmentation made me very specific about what an iOS music player should feel like — so I built the player I wanted to use myself.
Three things kept bothering me:
🎵 Local files are too often treated like second-class music.
🔀 Every source has its own app, library, and listening context.
🍎 A premium Apple product should feel considered on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch — not stretched from one screen.
OVO puts local files at the center, alongside Apple Music, supported SoundCloud content, live streams, and synced folders. Music stored on the device remains available offline, and the app is designed specifically for each Apple screen. Wi-Fi Transfer sends supported audio directly from a Mac or PC over the same trusted network, while Party Mode brings supported local tracks to life with artwork-powered, beat-reactive visuals and optional rhythm haptics.
OVO Pro adds a 10-band EQ, bass and volume controls, fades, crossfade and gapless controls where supported, private iCloud library sync between iPhone and iPad, and connected-source features. OVO supports nine languages.
