Can users see a timeline or summary of what they've learned with the mentor? As a visual to see their growth in that category?
Max Deutsch
@be_radu Not yet, but this is a cool idea. We're currently testing a few different ways to visualize progress

Hey, I've been using this app for about 2 weeks or so and I love it so far. It's honestly nothing I have experienced before and it has been extremely helpful with learning a new skill.
Max Deutsch
@ryan_mccarroll Thanks, Ryan! This is really great to hear

@_maxdeutsch I really do like the idea and I tried it for a few days already, but have some questions and concerns that I'm hoping you may be able to help with: 1. My current mentor lives in PST timezone while I live in CET. that gives us a couple hours of chatting hours and during those times it is end of my day so I don't generally have the energy to chat. Is there a way to find someone closer to my timezone? 2. It is advertised as a 24/7 chat platform but mentors do respond whenever they want/can. Is there a policy that mentors have to follow in terms of response time? 3. If I need two mentors at once within two different categories, do I need to open two accounts?
Max Deutsch
@footer Hey Amin - Thanks for writing. In general, here's how I recommend you best work with your mentor: Rather than having a back and forth conversation, throughout the day as you are working, send any questions or thoughts to your mentor. Your mentor can then respond to everything you've written once or twice a day in larger chunks. While real-time chatting is supported, we've found that larger check-ins seem to work better: It gives mentors the opportunity to respond in a more holistic (and less time sensitive) way. Now to your questions: 1. We can definitely reassign a new mentor to you. However, if you are working with your mentor in a less real-time way (as suggested above), timezones matter less. If you think your mentor is a good fit, I'd encourage you to try out this approach. If it's still not working, send support@openmindlearning.com an email and we will reassign your mentor. 2. Our policy is that mentors should do their best to respond as soon as possible, and in no more than 24 hours. 3. Currently, yes, you'll need to create two accounts. If you have any more questions or feedback, you can send me an email at max@openmindlearning.com. Thanks for trying out Openmind and helping us make the service better.
