Hey Product Hunt! I'm Nick, the founder of On The Town.
A couple years ago I started organizing small dinner parties for strangers in my city — matching people by shared interests, picking restaurants, handling RSVPs and payments. It worked surprisingly well. People kept coming back, bringing friends, and asking me to run more events. But the logistics were brutal. I was juggling spreadsheets, Venmo requests, group texts, and restaurant calls for every single event.
So I built the tool I wished existed.
On The Town lets you create a social club, build a website for it, and run recurring events where members get automatically matched into small groups and assigned to local venues. The whole flow — signup, payment, matching, venue assignment, notifications — runs on its own.
Here's what makes it different from event platforms you've used before:
- Group matching: Members answer signup questions, and the platform matches them into compatible small groups (pairs, foursomes, groups of six, etc.)
- Venue assignment: Each group gets assigned to a partner venue automatically — no more coordinating where everyone should go
- Recurring events: Built for clubs that meet weekly or monthly, not one-off events. Set it up once and it keeps running.
- Full monetization: Charge per event or sell memberships. You set the price, you keep the revenue.
- Your own brand: Every club gets its own website with a custom domain, templates, and member portal
The venue side is free — restaurants, bars, cafes, and other spaces sign up to get discovered by organizers looking to book group experiences. They get recurring bookings without paying commissions.
I'd love to hear: have you ever tried to start a recurring social group or club? What was the hardest part of keeping it going?
