Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Nathan, the maker of Number Harbor.
I built this because I wanted a way to disconnect from people from a previous period in life without losing access to login codes, important messages, and the backup methods I'd tied to my old number. I wasn't sure how many times I'd put that number down as a recovery method, and I didn't want to lose it.
So Number Harbor lets you transfer (port) your old US mobile number into an iPhone app. Incoming SMS and MMS land in a focused inbox with search and 2FA / Bank / Personal filters. Standard ($3.99/mo) is receive-only. Pro and up add replies from the old number — you can only reply to messages that come in, not start new threads. Free download, monthly plans, cancel anytime through Apple. One number per account, iOS 16.4+.
A few honest limits: Version 1 is US mobile numbers and texts only (no calls, no iMessage). Some banks that block VoIP-style numbers may not send codes to a Twilio-hosted number. Ports usually take about 5–15 business days, and you should keep your old carrier active until it finishes.
