Hi PH. I'm a solo builder and NudgeLearn started because grading is the part of teaching that eats the evening. Not the hard part, the long part: a hundred pages where you write the same correction forty times. You point a camera at a finished page, or upload a class set, and it comes back marked. Every problem gets a mark, the correct answer, and one line saying what the student actually did wrong, not just that they were wrong. Essays get scored criterion by criterion against a rubric: 86 real published rubrics ship built in (Common Core, state writing rubrics, AP FRQ, 6+1 Traits), or you import your own. The part I care most about: the teacher stays the grader. Every score is editable, every criterion is editable, and the marks are suggestions on a page you sign off. It is not a replacement for reading your students' work. On accuracy I would rather show the number than claim one. Texas publishes real student essays with the scores its trained examiners gave them. We graded all 78 of them, grades 3 through 8, on the same engine any account uses: 9 in 10 came back within one point of the examiner, and agreement with the examiners was 0.78 QWK against the 0.70 that is generally accepted for automated marking.
