Our goal isn’t to simply build a better-looking calendar app. We want to free up people’s time, so high-performing teams can focus on what actually matters. Sync calendars, use Calendly-like features, coordinate work locations, and quickly create events.

Marc Gingras
👋🏽 Good morning, Product Hunt community! I’m Marc, co-founder of Nook Calendar 📅 —a big thanks to Kevin William David for hunting us! A bit of background on Nook Calendar, myself, and our makers: Our humble journey begins all the way back in 2006 when I founded Tungle.me—a meeting scheduling app that was a precursor to Calendly and adopted by half a million users before being acquired by Blackberry in 2011. A lot has changed in the world since then, especially how we work. The shift towards hybrid and remote work has opened the floodgates, giving employees more flexibility in how, when, and where they work than ever before. But at the same time, it’s harder to get things done. We are constantly bombarded with thousands of messages, meeting requests, notifications, documents, and recordings. Our attention is being solicited at every moment of the day, and a mere glance at our schedules can make us cringe. Still, there’s been very little innovation in the calendar space to address these problems. So, after nearly a decade, a few of us former Tungle team members (who are listed here as makers today) decided to throw our hat back into the ring. 😁 With Nook Calendar 📅 you can: - Propose meeting times with unique scheduling links - Quickly create events based on your colleagues’ availability - See where your team members plan to work each week with location bookings - Instantly join meetings with one click (no more fumbling for a video conferencing link) - Sync all your calendars to prevent double bookings and see what’s on your schedule Nook Calendar is also available on native iOS and Android apps, as well as in a desktop web browser. And, unlike other calendar and meeting scheduling apps, we can sync with Google Calendar AND Microsoft Outlook. Today, we’re also pleased to announce the exclusive launch of Personal Booking Pages for scheduling meetings, and Product Hunt users get first dibs. 😺 Once you’re in-app, you’ll be prompted to create your page and claim your unique URL during setup. Oh, and it’s FREE—we forgot to mention that. 😉 The Nook Calendar team is on a journey—one where we will strive to bring you clarity, help you think clearly, and create significance in your daily lives—and we hope you will join us. For every new user that signs up today (May 9), we plan to donate $5 CAD to the Red Cross to support their relief efforts in Ukraine. 🇺🇦 We’re going to be sticking around the full 24 hours to answer any questions. We look forward to speaking with you all and seeing what you think of Nook Calendar. Peace ✌️

@marc_gingras Incredible solution! It’s a powerhouse for calendar and meeting scheduling. Love the integration of Nook Calendar with Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook. It’s going to be saving a lot of valuable time. Good luck on fine-tuning the product!

@alcaan Thanks Al - we are just out of the gate, we have lots planned over the coming months. Your feedback will be so valuable - so keep it coming.

Greetings, PH community! 👋 Chad here, taking over for Marc to connect with you all and speak a bit more about Nook Calendar. You may be wondering: “Why would someone need another calendar app?” Google Calendar is fine. Outlook is okay. They may get the job done. But what’s in the market today is far from perfect. And Calendly and other alternatives for scheduling meetings are often costly and impersonal. That’s why we created Nook Calendar. Nook Calendar is available on mobile from the App Store, Google Play Store, and Zoom Marketplace, and can integrate with leading video conferencing and calendar software (including Microsoft Outlook and Google Calendar). So give it a try, and let us know what you think! Again, we’ll be here all day answering questions and giving virtual high-fives. 🙏

Love it! What does the name Nook mean?
Marc Gingras
@killian_fjellbakk1 Great question! The way we work has changed. Now, it can be from home, the office, a cafe, or a park. We wanted to create a product that helps people find a little Nook that works for them. 😉 Also, call us superstitious, but a lot of great companies over the years—Facebook, Yahoo!, Google—all have two o’s in their name, so we’re hoping some of their success rubs off on us. Thanks again for your question!

@killian_fjellbakk1 Great question, Killian!

This is from the team that created Tungle.me - the OG business calendar app. Still nothing better than that on the market. Can't wait to see how Nook develops
Marc Gingras
@startupcfo Thanks Mark — we are just getting started. So much we want to build out.
Mo Hashemi
Been using it from day one and already prefer it to Calendly. Nook's got a couple of key features for group scheduling that no one else seems to have.
Chad Carlson
@hashemito Thanks for the kind words and your support from the beginning.
Jordan Graham
@hashemito this in an endorsement that carries weight.
