For the past three years, I’ve been thinking about what my ideal personal information-gathering tool should look like. nook is the culmination of that process.

nook brings together RSS, X, Reddit, Hacker News, YouTube, and web sources into a single reader. Instead of letting feeds pile up into noise, you can set custom AI prompts and keywords on individual sources to filter what actually enters your library, and quickly catch up with concise takeaways and briefings. It is not confined to technical or overseas news; it works just as well for niche interests, industry research, or everyday reading.

A few key aspects of how it works:

- Mac collects, mobile reads: Your Mac does the heavy lifting in the background, handling collection and AI processing, while syncing with your iPhone and iPad so you can read on the go.

- Bring your own AI, zero markup: nook itself is completely free and adds no AI markup. Similar to OpenClaw, you connect your existing ChatGPT or Claude account directly.

- CLI for coding agents: If you use tools like Codex or Claude Code, nook includes a built-in CLI to search your library, read articles, and trigger collection straight from your terminal.
