Hey Product Hunt! 👋 I’m Nischay, solo founder of Nischay Robotics, and a final-year engineering student in Bengaluru.
Why I built this
Every robot I’ve worked with was stuck with the body it was born with. Need a different shape? Build a whole new robot. I grew up on sci-fi robots that reshape themselves, so I set out to build one for real.
What TETROBOT is
Identical modules that latch, release and re-latch to become a different machine. The same set becomes an arm, an arch or a crawler, with 21 configurations from one hardware set so far.
Under the hood
7 joints per module, driven by serial-bus servos
A mechanical lock carries the load; magnets only help with alignment
Pogo-pin connectors pass power and signal between modules
Tetrobot, our graph-native runtime: when modules join or leave, it’s a graph edit, not a restart
Honest status
These are working prototypes, 3D-printed, wired and coded by me, and rebuilt many times. The biggest open challenges are torque vs. weight and docking alignment. TETROBOT placed 2nd at the L&T TechGium national finals.
Who it’s for
Robotics labs, college clubs, makers and R&D teams who want one kit that becomes many robots. Modules are ₹29,999 each, and kits start at ₹1,10,000.
Feedback I’d love
Would your lab or club use this? Which shape would you build first?
Which tool tip should come next: gripper, wheels or camera?
Does the pricing feel right?
I’ll be here all day. Thanks for checking it out! 🙏
