News Viber helps you track RSS / Atom sources, chat against your own archive, and automatically generate briefs, reports, and ideas from fresh news in one desktop app.

I built News Viber because my own news workflow was spread across too many tools. I could collect articles in one place, ask AI questions in another, save notes somewhere else, and then manually turn all of that into a brief or a list of ideas. It worked, but it was slow and context kept leaking.
News Viber is my attempt to make that workflow tighter in a single local-first desktop app. You can track RSS / Atom sources, keep a local archive, ask across selected sources and time ranges, and set up projects that automatically turn fresh coverage into briefs, reports, or ideas.
It is designed for people who do more than skim headlines: developers following fast-moving categories, researchers tracking a theme over time, analysts comparing coverage, and content teams looking for signal.
It is also open source, and you can choose your own provider/model setup instead of being locked into one backend.

I would love feedback on where this workflow still feels incomplete.
