BookmarksUnchained turns Chrome bookmarks and X saves into a private library you can search, organize, and revisit. Your bookmarks, notes, projects, and AI results stay on your device. AI and X only run when you ask. What you can do: • Automatic categories — Group links by what you meant to do with them: read, try, research, buy, share, or use in a project. • Daily picks — Bring recent saves, quick reads, in-progress links, and older bookmarks worth another look back into view. • Fast triage — Keep, postpone, complete, hide, open, or add details with keyboard shortcuts, gestures, and batch actions. • Search and Ask AI — Search titles, URLs, notes, tags, and saved summaries. Start an AI summary or ask a question about selected saved links when you choose. • Projects and cleanup — Group bookmarks by project, capture open tabs, choose next actions, remove duplicate copies, and review folder suggestions before anything changes. • X bookmark sync (Pro) — Connect X through official read-only OAuth and sync only when you choose. Monthly includes an initial import of up to 300 returned Posts; Yearly raises it to 800. Both include up to 200 returned Posts per UTC month afterward. • New Tab workspace — Keep local search and today’s picks close on every new tab. The replacement is explained during setup and on its first appearance. • Dead-link checks and backup — Check saved URLs, export a complete JSON backup, and restore it on another device. Pro adds automatic daily checks, Markdown export, and an optional end-to-end encrypted vault. The backup is encrypted on your device with your passphrase before upload, so the service cannot read it. • Optional reminders — Turn on bookmark reminders or related-bookmark suggestions when they are useful. Both are off by default. Private by design: • No user account required. • No readable cloud bookmark database. • No behavioral tracking, advertising, or sale of your data. • Your library, notes, projects, and AI results stay in Chrome local storage and IndexedDB. • AI and X requests only run when you start them. Prompts, OAuth tokens, and returned Posts are not retained by the service. • Optional vault backup stores only encrypted data that the service cannot read. • Bookmark moves and removals require your approval, and the latest cleanup batch can be undone.
