Nearish is a peer-to-peer app built for long-distance couples. Unlike standard messaging tools, Nearish brings your partner directly to your home screen via live distance, weather, and battery widgets. Share instant photo updates to their Moments widget, send physical haptic "touches" by covering your camera lens, and track the final feet of your next visit with Smart Meet-Up Mode. Everything is secured with Universal E2EE so your connection remains completely private.

the haptic touch feature actually feels more intimate than expected, way better than another text on a screen. battery widget is a small thing but i caught myself glancing at it a lot.
@mittromneyย When this all started, I noticed that I couldn't find what I was looking for in the Play Store. So, I wondered if I could build something. At first, it was just the distance between the users. That evolved into better moments of connection over distance. From there, I just started thinking about things that I felt would bridge the gap or, as my catchphrase goes, make the space smaller. Everything is designed to shrink that distance. It kind of boils down to me sitting there on any given day and thinking, "I wonder what the weather is like where she's at?" or hearing her apologize for her phone battery going dead. The haptic part really kicked into higher gear when I designed the part for recording and your partner being able to feel your actual heartbeat through the haptics of the phone. Then it naturally moved to the taps and touches within the app. Thank you for taking the time to tell me these things.
