Excellent - so happy this is finally out there. I was about ready to get a Nest for baby #2. What is up with monitor designers putting in the 2 way radio, flashing lights and other nonsense. Thank you for eliminating that crap! Are there more of your beta testers on here ready to give feedback to potential purchasers? I'll be getting it anyway because if it's even 50% as good as you say it is it beats the regular monitors hands down. But... argh, when will you be available in Canada. We're just around the corner...

@parkeragee @msuster Hi Parker. Mark Suster led our Seed round last year and he has been a huge champion of us throughout our stealth phase. Regarding your question about security, I am a mom of two kids (13 and 11), so I can relate. Indeed, almost everyone on the team here has children. This is going to sound like marketing speak, but in truth, almost every decision about our product started from our understanding -- through research and personal experience -- of this life stage. Here are a few examples: (1) we actively chose to disable to two way speaker so no one can speak to your baby via a microphone, (2) we're using 256 bit encryption, (3) we're HiPPA compliant. Any thoughts to a dedicated hardware monitor? My wife and I originally tried a nest cam with our daughter, but the app crashed over night and we didn't hear her crying for over an hour one night. The next day we returned the nest cam.

@evancmorris We've thought about that use case. However, currently, we're focused on shipping our first product. We hope that with Nanit's features you won't have to be constantly watching the live video stream, thus eliminating the need for the dedicated monitor.

Didn't see this in the FAQ's, but on the pricing it says, "12 months of Nanit Insights" for the middle plan. What happens after the 12 months? Only reason I am confused: It's an upfront, one time cost to purchase cam but there is no info on what happens after those 12 months. Is there a monthly cost associated or do you have to do the $459 plan to get the insights ongoing? The only tip I'd have on the pricing page: have help "?" icons next to Sleep Tracking and Video Users so we can understand what the difference in pricing really is. Also, put pricing FAQ's below for objection handling:)

@taylorbarr Hey Taylor, thanks for the question. The current pricing on Nanit Insights represents a 50% discount on our full price. After the 12 months is up, Nanit Insights is available for $10/month or $100/year, and Nanit Insights Unlimited is available for $30/month or $300/year. Regarding the tooltip and FAQ ideas, thanks for the suggestions! We definitely will take this into account as a potential solution for clarifying our pricing.

Our team was Wareness.io loved working on this launch. The team is top notch and parents themselves. We originally got interested in Nanit because it enabled a tremendous amount of insights without the need for attaching anything to a newborn. No wearable required. Secondly the mobile app experience is really cool and provides 'co-parenting' so all modern families can be better parents and learn and communicate together.

I'm a new mom-to-be who lives in SF, works in tech, and is supremely paranoid and OCD about everything. Nanit sounds like a great way to collect data about our kid, and I'm sure that it appeals even more to my data-minded husband. :) As I work in security, I appreciate the end to end data encryption, the disabled two-way radio, video streaming to only authenticated devices, and the fact that Nanit is HIPPA compliant.
