Private, on-device voice dictation for Mac, plus reminders that take over the screen until done. Works offline. Founding price: Pro $10 once

Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Sumit. My friend Abhishek and I build Nagbar after work.
The problem:
I ignored every reminder on my Mac. A banner slides in mid-thought, I swipe it away, and at 11 PM: wait, I never sent that. Notifications are built to be dismissed, so I dismissed them.
So we built reminders that don't take "later" for an answer:
• When something's due, a card drops from the notch: Done, Snooze 10, Not now
• Ignore it and the next ask takes the whole screen, on every display, until you answer
• Meetings from every calendar with Join right on the alert, and your Apple Reminders lists too
The hard part wasn't making it loud, it was making it bearable. Repeat asks wait for a natural pause (you switch apps, a call ends), 10 minutes at most. On a call or presenting it stays a small card and never grabs your keyboard. Quiet hours keep nights calm, and there's a daily cap on asks.
And dictation, with every model on your Mac:
• Hold the right ⌥ key in any app, talk, let go. Your words land where your cursor is
• Speech to text runs on the Neural Engine with NVIDIA's Parakeet. The audio is never recorded or kept
• A local model tidies it into your style: Qwen3.5 (0.8B to 4B, picked to fit your Mac's memory) or Apple Intelligence. With no model, Nagbar's own rules still work
• 11 styles plus your own, unlimited, no per-word cost
Also a Claude connector: ask Claude "what's late today?" or have it add a reminder. No account, no analytics.
Nagbar was free while our first supporters tried it. Thank you to everyone who did: you keep your free version, with updates. From 0.3.0 it's paid for new installs. For launch, Nagbar is $10 once for our first 100 buyers, then $20. That's everything in it, on 2 Macs, with every update. No subscription. If it isn't for you, email us within 14 days for a full refund.
We'd love your honest take, especially: does "full screen if you ignore it" feel right, or too much?
macOS 14+, Apple silicon.
@pathaksumit92 Nice product! :) Congrats on the launch.
Just that I understood it correctly: You can't snooze a full-screen reminder right? Does it really stay until the task is done?
@denise_louis yes you can snooze, but next time it takes up your whole screen, on every display unless you answer. It only goes away after you mark the task Done :)
