AI research you can actually cite: answers come only from papers in your library, with citations that open the exact passage in the PDF. Reading with highlights, APA 7 notes, multi-database discovery, and deep-search evidence reports.

Hi Product Hunt, I'm Joel, and I built MyOwnArc under Robin of Loxley, my small company's family of fairly priced apps.
I made it because I kept seeing literature reviews with references that didn't exist, and the AI research tools that handle citations properly cost $10 to $49 a month, on top of a reference manager, a PDF reader and a notes app.
MyOwnArc answers only from the papers in your own library. Every claim carries a numbered citation, and clicking it opens the exact passage in the PDF, so you can check the claim instead of trusting it.
Around that, it does the other jobs in one place: a library that fills in title, authors, year and DOI from Crossref and OpenAlex, an in-browser PDF reader with highlights, notes where you type @ to cite, reference lists in APA 7, Harvard, Chicago, MLA 9, Vancouver or IEEE, and one search across PubMed, OpenAlex, Semantic Scholar and Crossref. You can export to BibTeX, CSV, Word or Markdown whenever you like.
Who it's for: students and researchers writing anything that needs real references, from an undergrad essay to a systematic-style review.
What it doesn't do: it isn't a general chatbot and won't answer from the open web, only from your papers. It doesn't write your essay. The browser extension still installs in developer mode while the Chrome Web Store listing is pending. AI use has a daily allowance on every plan, because each answer pays for the text it reads.
