Most reading tools are built around the text. Musery is built around your reading mind. Take notes, build glossaries, further readings as you read. Musery turns them into a growing map of meaning: characters, ideas, glossaries, explainers, and the threads between them. This is a living record of your own reading, held so you can return to it, even converse with it. For serious readers who annotate, read slowly, and put books down for weeks before coming back.

I read several books at once, that too, in at least two languages, i.e., English and Urdu. I also venture into a number of genres. Ghalib in one hand, the Iliad in the other, a stack of technical papers that won't stop growing. Notes in margins of books I've lent out, notebooks I can't find. I'd forget characters, concepts, structures of epic poems, etc. I Put down a novel for three weeks and return to it like a stranger. I knew it isn't a failure of attention, rather what serious multidisciplinary reading looks like. The problem was that I kept losing the web of thought I built while reading. I originally thought about this as a note-taking problem. It evolved into something different, a sort of navigational space with web of meaning as a retrievable layer. Every feature decision came back to one question: does this reflect the reader's thinking back to them, or does it replace it? Anything that replaced it got cut. Musery is still early. But I believe it will help readers like myself. I do not have costing model yet, as I am the sole developer of the app, so I kept it minimal for the moment to gain some adoption and feedback.

honestly the map of meaning idea is what got me, that sounds genuinely cool for slow reading. one thing id want though is a way to export my notes and glossary back out as a clean pdf or markdown file, basically so i have my own copy outside the app in case i switch tools later. would make trusting it with years of marginalia way easier
