Mejengas is a tiny web app for weekly 5v5 pickup soccer. Players open one link to see who's in, both teams on a 3D pitch and how many spots are left. Organizers build lineups, manage the waitlist and track who paid the fee. No install, no login for players.

Every Wednesday and Friday, ~30 of us fight for 10 spots in a 5v5 "mejenga" (Costa Rican slang for a pickup soccer game). Everything happened in a WhatsApp group: first 10 to confirm play, everyone else waits.
That broke in three ways:
• Nobody agreed who was #10 vs #11
• Finding the lineup meant scrolling 200 messages
• The ₡1000 (~$2) court fee was tracked from memory
So I built Mejengas. WhatsApp stays the place where people confirm. The app just keeps the record.
For players (no account needed):
⚽ Next match, both teams and remaining spots, readable on your phone in 3 seconds
🏟️ Lineups on an animated 3D pitch, with jerseys you can tap to flip
📅 Calendar, match history and attendance leaderboard
💬 Match comments with Google sign-in, moderated by AI
For organizers:
📋 Create matches, assign players in confirmation order, auto-waitlist past 10
👕 Split the 10 starters into Team A / Team B
💰 Mark who paid; debts add up per player across closed matches
Built with React 19 + Three.js, Go and Postgres, self-hosted.
